Malahide is one of Ireland’s most well known picturesque seaside towns that has won many prestigious awards. It boasts a heritage village, Malahide Castle and Gardens, a lovely marina with promenade, world class restaurants,
cafés, famous pubs, fashion boutiques and beautiful long sandy beach. It's traditional shop fronts and cobble-lock
side streets give it's village a lot of charm and character and makes for a must visit.
Malahide is situated along a stretch of Dublin Bay’s scenic coastline, 16 kilometres North of Dublin City lying
between Swords, Kinsealy and Portmarnock.
The Talbots were an Anglo French family who were among the Normans that invaded Ireland from Britain in AD 1171. Sir Richard was rewarded with a grant of lands and Malahide Castle was built. The Talbots continued to reside there for almost 800 years. A small village developed between the castle and the sea and inhabited mainly by small traders, agricultural workers, fishermen and oyster harvesters
